A chiropractic adjustment is the science and art of introducing a specific force in a precise direction applied to a vertebra or mal aligned joint in your body. 'Adjustment' usually refers to correctly aligning the vertebra, however chiropractic alignment techniques are routinely applied to joints, muscles, tendons, as well as most nerve pathways in the human body.

An adjustment is the correction of SUBLUXATIONS. A SUBLUXATION is a bone out of place that puts pressure on a nerve and wherever that nerve goes to like a vital organ or a body part, it causes it to malfunction, which then could lead to desease. If left uncorrected, it can lead to serious problems.

An adjustment is usually characterized by a dynamic thrust of controlled amplitude in a specific direction to the targeted location. The adjustment releases the vital electrical and nourishment flow to and from the brain, vertebra and effected region which may include extremities, organs and other nerve/muscle controlled organs.

There are numerous ways to adjust. Each of the various techniques require a specific force and line of drive. The adjustment is delivered either by the doctor's hands or a specially designed instrument. Some of the adjusting techniques are quick, while others require a slow constant pressure.

INSTRUMENT ADJUSTING (ArthroStim®):
The ArthroStim" gives patients a very specific adjustment, meaning that only the segment that is out of position is adjusted; there is no twisting, turning or "cracking" of joints. This technique permits adjusting in different postures.

The ArthroStim® instrument allows the doctor tremendous control over all adjustment variables. The ArthroStim® produces a succession of rapidly repeating, high velocity-low amplitude thrusts. The power of the thrusts can be changed from mere ounces of force, up to 40 pounds of thrusting force.

The rapid thrust and unique recoil produced by the ArthroStim® activates the patient's proprioceptors and mechanoreceptors without recruiting the nocioceptors (pain receptors), providing the comfort today's patient demands.

The ArthroStim® Instrument produces TWELVE thrusts a second. This frequency, known as the low beta somatomotor rhythm, is two to three times the rate of other multiple thrust instruments. This outstanding rapidity supersaturates the target area with specific adjustive energy/ forces. The energy continues to ripple through the joint to surrounding fringe tissues. This releases secondary trigger points and sites of muscular spasm, providing the relief and corrections that doctors want. Patients typically notice a positive difference with the first treatment.

THE VIBRACUSSOR®:
VibraCussor® percussive therapy is an exciting new treatment approach for muscle and ligament problems and related myofascial conditions.

VibraCussor® therapy is very effective for releasing muscles. The VibraCussor® compression waves promote an increase in circulation and lymphatic flow and a decrease in muscle spasm. The VibraCussor® can be used to 'warm-up' muscles and set proper tonus prior to athletic events. The VibraCussor® instrument can also be used following an event, or exercising, to 'flush' muscles and minimize soreness.

The repetitive pumping action of the VibraCussor® is ideal for releasing joints. The power of multiple percussive waves accumulates to loosen up 'stuck' areas without using heavy thrusting forces. Additionally, these waves heighten neurological awareness of specific areas of the body and facilitate energetic normalization.
